Meme Science LLC is a privately held company located in Huntington, WV with a global development team of partners and collaborators. We practice what we believe, excelling at onsite or virtual development with a core team as well as working with a trusted group of the highest caliber of collaborators. Some of our work was recently selected for display at the International Technology Expo. Meme Science has an advanced working knowledge of AJAX, PERL, JAVA, databases, scalable system design, e-commerce and monetization strategies.

PRINCIPALS:

Wayne Porter, CEO: Senior Advisor Emergent Research: Wayne is a frequent public speaker (e.g. RSA, Affiliate Summit, CJU) on a diverse range of topics including e-commerce, advertising fraud prevention, spyware,  security, experimental media, and community development. He is often published in a wide variety of publications including Baron’s Financial Times, Forbes, New York Times, Playboy, Mercury News, Entrepreneur, Fox News, and Revenue Magazine among others. Other work includes collaborating with other researchers to solve some of the most complex and intriguing security cases including the Orkut Worm, the KMeth Worm, and the SpazBox IRC Puzzle.

Wayne received the following honors Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Legend Award; 2005, Google Responsible Security Disclosure Acknowledgement; 2006 and was named a Top Influencer in IT Security in 2007. He also received a Microsoft Windows Security MVP; 2006-2007, 2007-2008 and the Enterprise Security MVP in 2008-2009.

He is a prolific writer and has received Marketing Sherpa Reader’s Choice Blog Award in 2006 and his collaborative work garnered a Webby Awards Official Honoree 2007 (Revenews- Business). As a consultant for Gerson Lehrman Group Councils he holds a Teacher Rank- Top 20% 2007-2008.

Wayne is the Co-founder of ReveNews.com, one of the oldest and top ranked collaborative writing efforts on online revenue generation. He was the CEO and co-fouder of XBlock Systems, an anti-malware firm, which was acquired by the leading unified communications company Facetime in 2005. Wayne remained there as Senior Director of Special Research until 2008. He was instrumental in the development of two patent pending systems using an automated “codeless” approach to negate malware.
In 2004, he served as an expert panelist at the FTC Spyware Workshop to address the growing problem of spyware and rogue distribution practices. In 2003, he organized and chaired the New York Performance Marketing Summit at the Yale Club to open up dialog that helped the industry produce a nascent Code of Conduct.

Wayne also provided funding and assisted as a creative consultant for the award winning film, Nothing So Strange (2002). The film received the New York Times Claiborne Pell Award for Original Vision. It also was the first film embracing the open source format.

He also served as the Consulting Producer on the drama/humor film Williamsburg (2006). Williamsburg was selected as Winner Best Noir at the New York International Film and Video Festival.

Wayne’s recent work has been in the Second Life platform where he co-created a number of experiences including work with his firm, Meme Science, to create an exact replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. He has also been working in Alternative Role Playing Games (ARGs) the most recent being Eldritch Errors an immersive horror series playing out in real time -- on the Internet and in the real world.

He is a recognized authority in security, performance marketing and excels in social network design, immersive and performance marketing as well as virtual world commerce.


Robert Egan, Vice President:
Vice President of Business Development: Robert Egan is a seasoned professional in sales, marketing, developing new business, and fostering both small and enterprise account relationships.

Robert enjoys developing and maintaining key business relationships, partnerships, and strategic alliances for the purpose of driving company revenue and business strategies. He is proficient in legal contract development, negotiations, and managing internal technical teams before, during, and after the sales cycle.

Robert has worked along side application developers to help define requirements as it relates to both back-end and front end applications. His proficiency as a high level business analyst and pre-sales engineer has helped in securing business throughout his business career. As Vice President of Business Development for XBlock Systems he was instrumental in the company's negotiations and eventual successful sale of the company in May 2005.

He has worked for engineering and software companies such as:

Westinghouse Electric, Square D Company, Axiom Systems, and XBlock Systems. Robert's customers have included: Hewlett-Packard, Johnson and Johnson, United Space Alliance, Gartner, Ernst & Young. Perdue Pharma, Southern Company, IBM, Gillette, SonicWALL, St. Bernard Software, Intrusion, Everyone's Internet, Compuware and The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund, Inc.

Robert earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His interests include Web Technologies, Physics, Music, World History, Hiking, Travel, Auto Racing and reading Non- Fiction.


Don Cramer, CTO: Don Cramer is a seasoned hand at Web development fluent in a multitude of languages including Php, Mysql, HTML, XML, JavaScript, AJAX , and PERL. In addition he is also gifted with professional graphics development, web graphical development, GUI construction, interactive web applications as well as Windows programming using C++, C# and PERL.

His latest forays include mastery of LSL Programming, Web to SL and SL to Web integration. Prior to Meme Science he spent over a decade as senior developer for with MSA Tech that includes stints consulting for a number of companies on server deployment and security, specialty coding projects and other data oriented roles. He has also pursued and developed a tool for agent detection and analysis and has spent the last year as Meme Science’s CTO.

Don began his professional career in the late 1990s working online as a web/graphics/application developer for the MSA Tech. He designed and created websites to sell digital content. His duties include graphic design, print-products, e-commerce billing solution deployment and creation of a proprietary anti-hacking agent to protect proprietary property as well as related products and content.

In addition Don worked with a wide range of small and large clients on setup and deployment of a wide range and types of sites and products. This included the release of Bot Buster a commercial grade anti-agent and detection tool, creation of backend database systems, and server security and maintenance. Don is well seasoned in configuring and hardening web servers. This includes custom builds of Apache, PHP and MySQL.

Don is the lead web and application developer and the primary architect at Meme Science including the programming of SLTWeets and The Wall SL. This includes various other SL/Web projects and SL Gadgets. Some of which are security related. For example a robust avatar scanner with chat spies detection, avatar tracking, and other intelligence.

Soon to be released is MicroPepper, SL’s most advanced and dependable E-commerce System along with Region Tracker that allows agencies or merchants to track visitors who visit a region/parcel including when they entered, left, duration of stay. This also includes region performance information and history. Information is analyzed using web based reporting system including detailed list of agents and graphing. Don has also worked with VW Experimentation – A project in development using TGE with the potential of being used for a private virtual world, MMO game or a competitor to other virtual worlds . This technology remains in very early alpha, a working client and dedicated server for clients to connect to is available now and will soon be available as a public beta.

Don has been a PHP/MySQL developer for approximately 10 years, specializing in web application development and integration with WEB to VW and WEB to Desktop. He is also fluent in PERL, C/C++/C#, capped with ten years of Unix/Linux experience including all facets of installation and initial configuration to compiling/installing/configuring a server for various uses. Lastly Don is also proficient with AJAX application development using available frameworks (prototype, PHP, MySQL, sendmail, bind, apf, firewall, etc).
